People from all over the world will be watching this global sporting event. Literally millions of people will be glued to their televisions watching this event live or recorded. It will be as popular as the Olympic Games and so many countries have participated in it. In total, there are 208 FIFA national teams and 204 of them participated in the qualifications for this incredible football event.

Since it closely resembles soccer’s version of the Olympic Games, this global soccer event occurs only once every four years. The qualification process for this incredible sporting event began in 2007 and 32 countries have made it to the final tournament.

Team USA has appeared in the previous five World Cups and will appear again in the current year’s cup. It has finished in Group C. Group C has 4 strong nations. They are: England, Algeria, Slovenia and the United States. The USA team will have to deal with England as their main threat.

USA matches go like this. On June 12, 2010, they will play first against England. This will be a very difficult game for the USA because England have a very strong team. Some critics say England could go ahead and win the tournament outright.

Next on the US party list is Slovenia. On June 18 they will play Slovenia at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg. On the same day, England will face Algeria in Cape Town. Finally for Group C, the United States will play against Algeria on June 23, 2010. The match will be played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Although soccer in the United States does not seem to be so popular. It has increased in popularity over the years. In the Confederation of Association Football of North, Central America and the Caribbean, also known as CONCACAF, it ranks first. As a nation, the United States is said to be ranked in the top 20 in the world rankings.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup teams sport new kits in South Africa. There are newly designed soccer jerseys for home and away matches. There are soccer jerseys available to the general public. People can support the nation of their choice and buy these high-quality soccer jerseys made by popular manufacturers like Nike and Adidas.

In 2002, America reached the quarterfinals. This was an amazing achievement. Let’s hope the Americans can do better and reach the semi-finals or even win the cup. If you want to support your favorite nation, I suggest you wear your own soccer jersey and watch your favorite team play.

There is nothing stopping either team from winning. Team USA has qualified and so have 31 other nations. Each nation will put their best side forward and do their best to win this important football event.

In conclusion, 32 nations will face each other in what will become an incredible cup event. Stay tuned to your TVs or watch the biggest sporting event online. It begins on June 11 and ends on July 11. South Africa will have millions of eyes watching this global sporting event. I will support the Australia team as I am Australian.
