The Turbo Snake – Does it work?
The Turbo Snake seems like a really simple idea that looks great, but it shows a lot of promise. Dealing with a clogged sink is never pleasant. It will cause your sink to drain slowly, and you may even have to hire a plumber if you can’t fix the clog yourself. But this product promises that it will empty any sink in just a few seconds.
What makes it effective?
A long, flexible nylon cable with a special brush on the end is what makes up the Turbo Snake. The length of the snake is pushed into the drain, brush end first, then twists when it encounters the clog. Then you should get it out no problem.
My experience
I ordered two sets of Turbo snake. I was surprised to discover that they were much smaller than I had imagined. I used the larger Snake for the clogged tub and the smaller Snake for the drain. I didn’t have to go buy chemicals. The Turbo Snakes worked perfectly. In fact, they cleaned the blog in just two passes!
The funny thing is that the first time I used them, I had a disappointing experience. Nothing happened! I was about to dismiss the purchase as a mistake when I realized I had been doing it the wrong way. You have to see the “twist”. Slide it down the drain only after making sure the lid is open. Then twist the snake around a few times and then pull, just as the instructions tell you. This was the part where I got it wrong. Looking back, it would have been fun if I had dropped my Turbo Snakes after that first try! They are now my tools of choice for clogged drains.
