This would give you an idea of how many websites on the internet are linking to your website.
What is link building and what are the different types?

- Reciprocal Link Building
- non-reciprocal link
- Reciprocal linking means that there is one incoming and one outgoing link, that is, there is a link exchange between your site and the linked site. It first links to the other website and the webmaster is asked if they want to link again.
- Non-reciprocal linking is having only the incoming link without your site linking back. This would have more value than the reciprocal link. But this does not mean that it is not worth making reciprocal links. It has its importance. Non-reciprocal linking is better but a bit more difficult to achieve.
How to do reciprocal link building?
You need to find the websites that have a similar theme to yours but are not your direct competition and ask for a link exchange. Once you find the correct websites, add a link to these websites on your links page and send an individual email to each of these website owners.
Now, you need to take care of the anchor text, also known as link text. This is the text that is displayed on the other website that links to your website. The anchor text should be the best keyword that describes your website and has a high value attached to it.
These are the three basic things you would need before requesting a link exchange with link partner websites.

URL: The URL of the web page you want the link to
Description: Briefly describe the purpose of your website and don’t forget to mention your keywords.
The next thing to investigate is the Google PR (PageRank) from the link web page. The higher the Google PR, the higher the link value you get, which would translate into a higher Google search engine ranking.
Now the internet is an ocean and finding these websites, their Google PR and emailing them is a difficult manual process. You can do this, but it can take years before you can build decent link popularity.
