Robert De Niro’s best roles in his long career

Whenever you talk about the best actors working today, one actor that is always in the discussion is Robert De Niro. No matter if he is starring in a drama, a comedy, or even an animated movie, Robert De Niro’s enthusiasm and love for acting always seem to shine through. He has done it all and deserves to be as successful as he is.

Here are my 5 favorite Robert De Niro movies of all time.

Probably my favorite Robert De Niro movie of all time is the Martin Scorsese-directed mafia movie Goodfellas. This movie won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1991, and with good reason. This is a true rags-to-riches story, and it just so happens to be based on the true story of Henry Hill.

Another movie that is definitely on my top 5 list is Heat. This movie is one of the few that starred Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, probably the two best actors working today. This movie is directed by Michael Mann and it is an absolutely amazing movie.

Casino is one of my favorite movies starring this amazing actor. It was no surprise that this movie was amazing as it had the certified stamp of De Niro, Pesci and Scorsese working together, a sure match for a memorable film.

Sleepers is another movie that makes the cut for me. Make no mistake, this movie is not easy to watch. While he may not be leading the way in the film, he certainly adds to the brilliance of this movie. This movie also stars Brad Pitt, Billy Crudup, Dustin Hoffman, and Kevin Bacon.

Ultimately, I felt that A Bronx Tale was a movie worth mentioning. This is one of the few mob movies to star Robert De Niro as the good guy! Chazz Palmienteri, who also wrote the script, plays the bad guy in this one.

While these movies include my top five favorite movies, you may feel the need to write a follow-up article listing movies 6-10 very soon.
