Report of the Big 12: Week 9

A defining week for the Big 12 last week as Texas continues to move forward, and even climbed up the BCS rankings after a beating of then-#8 ranked Texas Tech in Austin, clearly sending the message to the rest of the Big 12 in the south and north. , are the greats of the block and a major contender for the national title. The end date of the season with Texas A&M in College Station matters, but Texas is moving toward the Big 12 Championship regardless of the outcome of that game, and should destroy any North Division contestants.

The picture has become clearer in the North’s last week, as Missouri’s All-World QB Brad Smith ran Nebraska wild and generated over 450 yards of offense himself in a blowout as the 21-year-old relegated Huskers achieved the halftime and then the Tigers brought out the Claws and it was a track meet for Brad Smith. Nebraska takes one from Oklahoma this week at Lincoln in what you should be good at, and Colorado’s northern to the title kept Kansas at Boulder in impressive 44-13 fashion, and travels to Manhattan to take on the Kansas State Wildcats K, who It went down in flames against Texas A&M last week by just 2 points in a barn burner. It looks like a Missouri and Colorado race to the finish line in the North, like Buffalo having Nebraska at home the day after turkey day, and that’s a big plus for them. Stay tuned people, the second race in the South duties be a good one with Texas Tech and Texas A&M. Here are some shots at 12 big action this weekend

Colorado-7 @ Kansas State

A KEY Buffalo game, and they are firing on all cylinders on offense right now with 44 against a more than respectable Kansas defense last week as QB Joel Klatt continues his success with a 62% completion rate and 12 TDs vs. just 4. pick the year, much better than K State’s QB Allan Everidge who has a little over 800 receiving yards on the year with 5 TDs and QB Webb who is a better running back both exchanging game time to find the right combination. K-State’s key to their demise is averaging just 58 rushing yards per game over their last 3, which means a defensive line stacked against them almost the entire game. The Buffs can generate points quickly with a solid trio of receivers and a great QB, and I’m looking for a 10-point Buffalo win here, as K State is struggling and has 2 straight losses, getting outscored 89-48 in the process.

Missouri vs. -5.5 Kansas

For those of you who don’t know, this is a huge football rivalry in the Big 12, launching back into the big 8 days. Missou has a HUGE win against Nebraska and, better yet, for this scenario, Avenging is back-to-back losses to Kansas and they play double revenge. The Tigers’ offense with QB Smith leading the way is solid and on the extended attack he can hit quickly, as evidenced by his balanced offense and posting over 540 yards of offense per game in his last 3, against the likes of Nebraska, Iowa State and Oklahoma State along the way. Kansas just can’t trade blows here and the offense is down nearly 300 yards per game on average against the Tigers, who should get their revenge on Kansas this week, with plenty of confidence. Brad Smith makes the difference again, as Missou’s WR’s are sized over 6’3″ and above, who create set matches against smaller DB’s.

Nebraska -1.5vs. Oklahoma- MI HIGHLIGHTS BIG 12 Game of the Week

Texas Tech -10 @ Baylor

I feel sorry for the Baylor Bears as they have surprised even myself this season even with a 4-3 record but fatigue will be key this week in Waco as they take on an angry Texas Tech team who was yarded Texas last week in a huge loss in Austin. Bottom line here, with Baylor out an OT loss to Oklahoma, a thrashing by Nebraska the week before, and the Red Raiders looking to rack up some points here, it’s going to be a long day for the Bears and me seeing them having their worst loss of the season. this Saturday. I would like to put out the points that the Bears are not a good area team and Red Raider Head Coach Mike Leech will have a lot of chances in this game.

That’s all for this week in the big 12, stay safe and stay tuned for the next weeks report and more premium play winners from me in the big 12 each and every week.
