Oh! Why did I miss that trip?

My parents always say that opportunity never knocked on our door twice. Whenever you get the chance, just grab it. I realized the value of these words when three of my friends Aman, Ranveer and Rohit describe to me the fun, excitement and experience they got during their 9-day tour of Peru. I have never been to such a beautiful country in South America before. I only went to the airport to see if my friends; Although the flight was very close to me that day, I was unable to fly with them due to my sister’s wedding.

His flight landed at the Lima airport; the capital of Peru. Perhaps, they could have booked a luxury hotel, but opted for a reasonable one to enjoy their excursion within their budget. On the day of arrival, they did nothing; he just hung out here and there in the vicinity of the hotel; I went to some of its magnificent shopping centers (namely El Polo Centro Comercial and Angamos Open Plaza) and at night, I strolled through the Plaza Mayor. His description of the lightning effect of the Plaza Mayor and its surroundings was so effective, yet he was totally lost in Lime; I have never visited the site before.

The reason behind making an overnight stop in Lima was to experience paragliding. Accompanying a professional trainer they came to a long line of cliffs; known as Costa Verde; on which lies the city of Lima. The cliffs overlook the ocean at Miraflores, providing an excellent boost for paragliders. Both Aman and Rohit donned all the necessary gear to fly outdoors like a free bird. However, Ranveer was idle, but in the meantime, he was imagining how much fun it would be if they could go to Makaha Beach (on the Green Coast) and enjoy the surf activity. But they lost that opportunity because time asked them to go to Cusco (another beautiful destination in Peru).

The single word that most forces me to miss the trip is “hiking.” Being a good hiker, I would also like to enjoy a four to five day trek on the world famous Inca Trail with my friends if I was there. In ancient times, the Incas built this sacred path in spiritual ascent. It is surrounded by the dense forest, which is the archaeological legacy of antiquity, and several mountain capes; passing through that rocky road, they reached a height of 7,970 feet above sea level where the most famous Inca site of the 15th century was located, the Machu Picchu mountain.

When they returned from their trip, they gave me some photos of Machu Picchu from which I learned that the site was built with polished dry stone walls and covered in real greenery that represents the history of the Inca Empire.

The video camera recording told me everything, how they braved the waves of the Urubamba River by rafting, enjoyed horseback riding in an Andean town to explore the temple of the moon and fascinating archaeological sites of Cusco and explored the plains of Chincheros by bicycle. .

Unfortunately, the fun, excitement and enjoyment that I already missed can never be brought back, but if there are plans for a Peru vacation in the future, I wouldn’t want to miss out on that opportunity again.
