Nintendo DSi Colors – Pleasing to the eye

The Nintendo DSi was first released in November 2008 in Japan in matte black and matte white. It was released in the same colors in New Zealand and Australia. When the console launched in the US in April of last year, it came in matte black and matte blue. Most recently, in January, it was released in South Korea in four different shades: white, black, blue, and pink, and was bundled with an additional red limited edition.

Stronger shades were also released, again in Japan, in 2009. These are metallic pink, green and blue.

Why all the colors you say? Nintendo isn’t exactly trying to fill out the color wheel using its consoles. This is more of a marketing ploy by Nintendo to appeal to various age generations.

The colors of Nintendo DSi distinguish it from the other series of consoles from the same company, DS, DS Lite and DSi XL.

In addition, consumers are attracted to colorants and of course they would be delighted to be able to buy one that suits their taste and style. Also, this is a good marketing idea to attract more buyers of both genders. Pink and green are undoubtedly the best sellers among girls and boys prefer the darker colors.

However, not all Nintendo DSi colors are available in stores, as some were only released in Japan and South Korea and did not make it to the US or UK. Don’t worry though; You’ll be able to buy a white or metallic blue version online, most likely on eBay or Amazon.
