MLM Mompreneurs: Success Secrets for Stay-at-Home Moms in Network Marketing

Stay-at-home moms face unique challenges when building a network marketing business. In this article, I will provide invaluable advice that will increase your success in your business and decrease the amount of stress that can be present when running a home and business.

Set goals

You can’t run a race without knowing where the finish line is, and you can’t build a successful business without knowing what you want to achieve. As a mother in network marketing, you may have goals for your business that are not only focused on money, but also time with your family. Dream big. Your goals must be important enough to motivate you on a daily basis.

Whatever your goals, it is important that you write them down on a piece of paper and put them where you can see them. Be specific when setting goals. If you want financial freedom, what is the exact amount of money you need each month to do so? Break your goals down into realistic steps that are easier to accomplish so you don’t feel overwhelmed.

Plan your week

Take 20-30 minutes at the beginning of each week and plan your week. I recommend doing it only one week at a time, because often trying to plan the details beyond a week can be overwhelming. Write down who you plan to talk to this week; how you will communicate with your potential customers; and how you’ll make new contacts this week, whether it’s on social media sites or local events. If you are marketing online, what strategy will you be focusing on this week, what outcome do you want from it, and what specifically will you commit to doing to achieve it?

Don’t try to separate life and business when making a plan. I have found that when I consider my domestic and maternal duties when planning my business activities, I can be more effective. For example, while my daughter is dancing, I have a planning time scheduled for my marketing campaign. I make lists of topics for articles and write my vignettes. Planning your week ahead can help you stay focused when faced with the distractions of a life with children.

Build relationships

This is one of the most important aspects to be successful in network marketing. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase that “people join people, not companies.” This is often preached through attraction marketing campaigns, but it doesn’t mean you have to be a network marketing guru. What it does mean is that people bond with people with whom they have a trusting relationship.

That being said, I don’t necessarily think you should go after friends and family to join a business when they aren’t even open or looking to do something else. I believe that you should build relationships with people and that if you focus on those relationships, you will find that those who are open approach you much more easily and are willing to join you.

This is especially important when using the Internet to create your contacts. Build relationships with people you meet on social media … don’t just promote your business. If you’re building a list, offer your subscribers maximum value without asking for anything in return. This will build confidence in your readers and they will be more open to your main business opportunity.

Have a workspace

As a mother, it can be difficult to have a place of your own, but you can make a difference by building a home-based business. If you have office space, use it, but if you don’t, try to find a place in your home that is specific to your work. This will help you focus on work and give you a feeling of professionalism. This is important because if you are going to produce what you feel.

Also, make sure you have space to organize your work. Organize your contacts, prospect information, trainings, schedules, etc. so they are easy to find. This will alleviate unnecessary stress and promote a higher level of efficiency and productivity.
