How yoga can help release energy from the spine

The human body is a wonderful thing, and our spines are marvelous mechanical feats, made up of dozens and dozens of vertebrae, all interlocking and then held together by cartilage and ligaments. Of all mammals, we have the smallest base of support, the highest center of gravity, and the heaviest brain, making it seem as if we are balancing a bowling ball on a fragile spine. Yet somehow it all works out because of how brilliantly we are together. Sometimes, however, stress or bad postures or habits can interfere with this natural state, resulting in problems that yoga can not only solve, but improve a lot, so that all kinds of energies are released.

The truth is that if all the muscles supporting the spine were removed, the spine would remain upright due to intrinsic balance. This is because it is built in such a way that between bone, ligament and cartilage it builds up and keeps the spine in an upright and neutral posture. However, there can be muscular forces at work that can interfere with this balance, and yoga can help correct these bad postures by putting us through correct movements and postures that help us alleviate muscular interference. Once this is done correctly, once the energy used to cramp and control the muscles around the spine is removed, it can feel as if we have actually gained that energy, as if achieving intrinsic balance has created a great deal of energy. source of vitality when in fact, it has simply removed a blockage to our natural mechanics.

In summary, by practicing the correct yoga postures and movements, we can learn to correct bad habits and bad postures and, in doing so, remove the blockage that we have unconsciously built around our spine, allowing the bones to return to their normal position. true neutrality. intrinsic balance, suddenly releasing that energy and making us feel like we’ve gained a huge bonus when in fact it was always inside of us, but just being directed in the wrong direction.
