Bakugan battle team in a fight

One of the exciting new additions to the third installment of the Bakugan series is the Bakugan Battle Gear. It is a new weapon for Bakugan and acts as a support in fights as a Bakugan Trap. They take the form of guns, weaponized wings, cannons and more when opened. When in their closed form, they take on different shapes from the usual Bakugan balls, as they are shaped like anything other than a ball.

In addition to having different closed and open forms from the usual Bakugan, the gears also have a different set of attributes. The rest of the Bakugan go along with the main set of attributes — Pyrus (red/fire), Aquos (blue/water), Haos (white/light), Darkus (black/dark), Subterra (brown/earth) , Ventus (green/wind). The Bakugan Battle Gear has only three attributes: Gold, Silver, and Copper. Despite only having three attributes, the gears still have the same colors as the Bakugan’s six main attributes.

Make your final choice

You will have to choose your battle team before even playing in a fight. The main rule for a brawler when using it is that he can only use up to two supports. So it will be two battle teams, two traps or one of each. More than two would be outside the limits of the rules in the fights.

When choosing their main team, brawlers generally choose the one with the highest G-power level. Choosing a team that matches your Bakugan’s attribute is also a good way to pick your pick, no matter how much its G-power is. Combine a Ventus Bakugan with a green battle team like the Battle Turbine, for example, or a Pyrus Bakugan with a red one like the Jetkor.

Of course, you can also mix and match your Bakugan with two different attributes, with the help of the special abilities on the Battle Gear reference cards. This strategy allows you to be flexible in fights, which is why it is also a favorite of many fighters.

Wear your battle gear in a fight

You use Battle Gears by opening them on a Gate Card or by placing them on the back of a Core Bakugan. There are Bakugan with handles on the back to hold the equipment on the back. For the Bakugan without these handles, like the Bakugan from the previous series (Season 1 and New Vestroia Bakugan), you can use the Door Card to open them and use them in the fight.

Don’t forget the Battle Gear reference card as well. It is a card that comes with the Bakugan pack with the team. It is not necessary to use the Reference Card all the time. But you can use it to power up your Bakugan with G-powers and have additional abilities. More strategy tips for a fight with this new addition are included in the game FAQ.

Given the differences of the Bakugan Battle Gear from the Core Bakugan and the rest, it would be natural for there to be a different set of rules when using the former in a fight. The difference is only small, however. Ultimately, the main point is that they work like Trap Bakugan, and move around the game like regular Bakugan.
