After cleaning and wedding duties

As your special wedding day draws to a close, it’s a great feeling to know that while planning your wedding you included post-wedding cleaning on your wedding calendar. After cleaning the wedding, it is after all good wedding etiquette. Keep in mind that if you do not plan a cleaning committee after the wedding, many people will think that others have been appointed to the positions and that is why they leave.

A post-wedding cleaning is just as important, if not more, than a pre-wedding cleaning. Be positive about having an informed housekeeping committee after the wedding. You will discover that there are people who would be delighted to help you on the way to your honeymoon by making you this wedding favor. Post-wedding cleaning is never just a last minute thought, being prepared is essential to scheduling a wedding.

However, if you use certain facilities for your wedding event, ask about cleaning services after the wedding. You may be required to pay a cleaning deposit, which will be returned to you when the facility is clean. So, have friends, family, or groomsmen and bridesmaids on your cleaning committee after the wedding. However, you will need someone you can count on to make sure the post-wedding cleaning is done.

After the wedding cleaning duties

1. Transportation of gifts

2. Removal of the center piece

3. Disposal of bedding

4. Removal of decoration

5. Disassemble and remove tables and chairs

6. Cleaning the kitchen and removing food

7. Cleaning the locker room

8. Bathroom cleaning

9. Sweep

10. Mop

11. Garbage disposal

12. Turn off lights and central air units

13. Close all doors

– Schedule reminders for the wedding cleaning too, with the people who are on the post-wedding cleaning committee. Two weeks and again a week before the wedding should be sufficient. Mentioning it a few days before the wedding reception is acceptable as long as you know the cleaning will be done.

– Make sure you have responsible people in charge of taking care of your cleaning after the wedding, so that they know what to do with the items that need to be transferred or returned and where the items should go.

– Supply of containers for any fragile wedding decorations to be transported elsewhere. If you think you will need padding, keep bubble wrap or newspaper on hand to prevent items from bumping into each other while moving and storing.

– Be sure to provide the necessary food containers with lids to store any food left over from the wedding festivities, as well as something to store any additional wedding or grooms cakes after everyone is gone.

– If there are rental items, assign someone to make sure any rental items for pickup are ready and the pickup time. Designating a certain area to stack items for pickup will help with organization.

– Tuxedo rental return information should be available to someone responsible for overseeing that all rentals are returned on time.

Having your post-wedding cleaning tasks assigned and taken care of by responsible people will bring you much needed relief in knowing that your wedding day has been a great success, and you can look forward to your honeymoon without worrying about whether or not no one took out the trash.
