3 delicious summer snacks for kids

Children will be very active during the summer season. Whether they’re playing in the park or swimming at the beach, they need delicious and refreshing snacks to recharge their batteries. Put a smile on their face by being creative when preparing their food. Try these delicious summer snacks perfect for the kids!

Cereal dipped in yogurt and strawberry

What do you need:

  • 1 dozen strawberries
  • 2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios cereal
  • 3/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Mix the yogurt and honey in a small bowl. Place Cheerios cereal in a shallow dish. Dip each strawberry once or twice in the yogurt-honey mixture until well coated, then transfer to the Cheerios plate. Place the yogurt-dipped strawberries on a plate and refrigerate at least 15 minutes before serving.

What do you need:

  • colorful gummy bears
  • Elf
  • popsicle mold
  • ice cream sticks

To Sprite in each mold about 3/4 to the end. Lay out gummy bears (as many as you like or as many as your mold can accommodate). Place a popsicle stick in each mold and place in the freezer until completely frozen. Once completely frozen, remember the popsicles from the mold and serve immediately!

Crispy Stuffed S’mores

What do you need:

  • 7 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 Hershey’s milk chocolate bar
  • 1/2 package of graham cracker sheets
  • 5 tablespoons of butter

Melt the butter and 5 cups of marshmallows in a large skillet over low heat. Stir in crispy rice cereal until blended and remove from heat. Pour half of the mixture into a greased 9×9-inch pan. Spread evenly with a spatula. Top with graham crackers, candy bar, and 1 cup mini marshmallows. Roast for 30 seconds in an oven.

When ready, spoon the remaining butter, marshmallow, and crispy rice cereal mixture on top of the s’mores layer. Re-spread evenly with a spatula. Top with remaining marshmallows and return to oven to broil for 1 minute. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Children need attractive, delicious and filling snacks to keep them engaged. Adding color and creativity to what you prepare goes a long way, especially now that it’s summer: chances are kids will be busy most of the day playing games and doing all sorts of fun activities.
