These tips will cure aggression in your Yorkie puppy

We all know that Yorkshire Terrier puppies have a bad reputation for being “barking, biting little dogs.” We all know that one can screw up everything and if your Yorkie puppy is one of those bad guys, here are some tips to prove them all wrong!

1. Many people make the mistake of thinking it’s cute when smaller dogs growl, snarl or bite, as they can’t do any real harm. This may be what encourages your Yorkie puppy to continue these behaviors as she gets older. Most dogs show signs of aggression to show that they are alpha in the pack. In this case, you need to show your pup that you are the leader of the pack and deserve his respect. All members of your family should also exhibit alpha behaviors to ensure your pup isn’t aggressive toward just one person.

2.Showing aggression over well can also be a common aggressive behavior. If your Yorkshire Terrier puppy is showing signs of food aggression, you should remove him from the room when you are preparing his food. When you’re ready for him to eat, call him over to his eating area and have him sit quietly for 5 seconds before putting down his bowl. This will show that you are in control of the food supply, another sign of being the leader of the pack.

3. Whatever you do, don’t let your Yorkie puppy get away with aggressive behavior. Laughing, smiling, or ignoring aggressive cues will only reinforce the behavior. If your pup shows signs of aggression, immediately tell him “no” loudly and in a harsh tone so he knows the behavior will not be accepted.
