SWTOR Jedi Sage or SWTOR Shadow Jedi

You are sure that you will play a Jedi. After all, the force-sensitive characters are what got you hooked from the start. However, now that there are a total of four advanced Jedi classes for you to choose from when Star Wars the Old Republic launches, which one should you play? If you want to imitate Master Yoda, go for the Jedi Consular. The next question is, as a Jedi Consular, should I specialize as a Jedi Shadow or a Jedi Sage? Here are the preliminaries to help you decide which advanced class to aim for.

First of all, when can you choose a specialization? That would be as soon as you hit level 10. When it comes to what to expect in terms of overall advanced class build, SWTOR Jedi Sage heavily emphasizes a focus on the force rather than anything lightsaber related. The Jedi Shadow, on the other hand, is suitable for anyone who prefers to wield a lightsaber more, focusing primarily on stealth and burst damage.

There are a total of three skill trees, aka builds that the Jedi Sage and Jedi Shadow can further specialize in. Two are specific trees available for each advanced class, while one is an option available for both classes. The Shared Balance skill tree offers abilities for the class that further enhance both strength and lightsaber skills. Some of the known abilities are those like Containment and Mindfulness, which are passive abilities. Contain basically causes a 100% reduction in the cast time of Force Lift plus a chance to stun targets for 2 seconds. Presence of Mind, on the other hand, increases the chance to perform a second force attack instantly and with higher damage after Telekinetic Throw.

For SWTOR Jedi Shadow, the other two available skill trees that players can choose from are Infiltration and Kinetic Combat. The Infiltration ability is all about stealth and positioning for the next best attack, while the Kinetic Combat ability is more about making use of the dual lightsaber ability to protect Jedi and allies. As for SWTOR Jedi Sage, aside from the Balance skill tree, other available options include Telekinetics and Seer. Telekinetics has to do with using force abilities to distort the enemy’s reality and manipulate energy waves.

In any case, whichever Jedi specialization you choose to play and which skill tree you choose, it’s sure to be a memorable experience.
